Emi's Writing Log

So I have finished writing for the day and I am so close to getting my W which is insane. I really pushed through a bit of writer's block today. I always get a bit stuck when writing big action scenes and since I'm now at the climactic final battle of my novel, it's been difficult. But I did it, and it's the first draft so I know that I will be able to improve it a lot now I have written it. So here is my table with updated word counts and totals. I started the challenge with a wordcount of 77, 272 before October.

Updated with my numbers for today. I'm actually almost finished the first draft of this novel and only have the epilogue to write! I can't believe it's almost done.

Today's numbers and I can confirm that I have completed my first draft! I'm so excited that it's done. I'm taking the rest of today off to relax and sit with the fact that I have a complete first draft of an original novel. Tomorrow I will make a start on my next project to take a break before I go in to the first round of self-editing.

Well done!  I can only hope to be as inspired as you. Keep it up.

Updated with today's numbers. I've started on my next novel I had planned, and the word count started at 807 words before the challenge began so that's how I got my running total for the project. I really think I needed this to keep me accountable and I'm really enjoying working on writing so much.

My second WIP is a supernatural horrory mystery kind of thing about an abandoned theme park where people keep turning up having been brutally murdered and there's an urban explorer group who help a PI investigate the murder and solve it. The theme park is centered around classic fairy tales so it has attractions like the Gingerbread House and that kind of thing.

Word counts for the last couple of days. I haven't got as much done as I'd like. Yesterday I felt pretty ill most of the day, and today I had a bunch of other stuff to do so I didn't have much energy for writing.

Oh absolutely, and I'm really proud of what I've achieved so far this month with my writing so it's okay to have a few off days here and there.

Updated with today's numbers. I didn't get any writing done yesterday but I've managed to do a good chunk today to make up for it.

My numbers for this weekend. I didn't get much done yesterday but today I had to take a rest from physical stuff like packing so I managed to do a good bit of writing. I've been trying out the sprints technique using the focus thing on the windows clock, and it seems to be helping keep me focused. I'm feeling quite motivated that I'll at least earn my A soon!

I adore sprints! They help me focus, and it seems less daunting if it's only 23 minutes instead of endless. Hope packing is going well for you!

Thanks. I think I like the sprint technique, it seems to work well for me. Packing is going, lol. I have a lot of stuff so it's a whole process. Downside of having too many hobbies and I'm going from a 3-bedroom house to a single bedroom.

I'll update my chart with the remaining numbers for October. I've not been able to write since the 27th due to the moving house madness, but I'm so excited to see we're continuing the challenge through November so I will hopefully be able to keep myself on track for my goals! Well done to everyone for all their hard work this month. I've really enjoyed participating in this challenge and I can't wait to do more and see what you all achieve!
